Hindustan Times they were reported that Zydus Cadila, a pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Ahmedabad, may introduce the Covid-19 vaccine ZyCov-D into the national vaccination program the following week.
ZyCov-D, a DNA-based and needle-free Covid-19 vaccine, has been approved for emergencies in people 12 and older. Still, the report added that the Union Government has decided to use the vaccine first on adults.

ZyCov-D may be rolled out in seven states in the first phase. The seven states are Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
A needle-free vaccine delivers a painless vaccine experience and reduces major side effects. The vaccination will be administered using ‘PharmaJet,’ a needle-free, easy application.
The cost of each dose of vaccine is ₹358, which consists of ₹265 per dose with additional charges of ₹93 for the needle-free applicator. The prices exclude taxes.

Three ZyCov-D dosages should be administered 28 days apart. Previously, in August of 2021, the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) also approved the ZyCov-D vaccine for emergency use authorization. Previously, the Indian government ordered one billion doses of ZyCov-D.
